Oizys — not a goddess who ruled,

She did not create sorrow.

She did not seek it.

She simply existed wherever it already lived.

And in one quiet place where too many unspoken
things gathered, a tree began to grow.

It never shed its blossoms.

Instead, it bore fruit —

cherries, dark and heavy,
filled with everything people could not say.

Grief left behind. Smiles that lied.
Emptiness that lingered. Longing without a name.

One by one, the cherries began to break.

And when they fell — they spoke.

ii · the name

The name ØISYZ is derived from Oizys, the Greek goddess associated with misery, anxiety, grief, and emotional suffering. However, the name was intentionally altered from "OIZYS" to "ØISYZ" to represent resistance rather than surrender.

Ø The Negation

The "Ø" carries the idea of negation — a symbolic no. In ØISYZ, it represents rejecting the idea that sorrow and misery should define a person completely. The pain still exists, but it is no longer something that controls or consumes them.

ISYZ The Fracture

The distorted spelling and mirrored SYZ ending create a fragmented, almost unstable feeling — reflecting different emotional states emerging from the same source.

Instead of embodying grief itself like Oizys, ØISYZ represents what happens after confronting it — emotions turning into identity, expression, voices, and connection.
